Case study · Redesign

Say
Bugman.

A New Boston pest control company was wearing a rented template. I built them a site with their own brand on it — and it climbed to the top of their hometown's search results.

The problem

Josh Perez runs Say Bugman Pest Control out of New Boston — family-owned, licensed, twenty-five years in the field, the kind of outfit where the owner still answers the phone. His website said none of that. It was a drag-and-drop page-builder template: a white layout with the company name dropped in, six thin pages, and almost nothing underneath for search engines to work with. It looked like everyone else's site, and it did nothing to set him apart from the big Texarkana companies.

What I built

A ground-up rebuild — seventeen pages, every one hand-coded. The look comes straight from Say Bugman's own badge logo: its crosshair mark grew into a full brand system of deep night browns, sandstone, and ember orange, woven through the site like a maker's mark. There's a page for every service they offer and a page for every town they work, from Texarkana to Paris. The homepage opens on the company's own field photography — Josh at the truck, clipboard in hand — set in motion as a cinematic hero.

The approach

Pest control companies almost never post prices — every competitor says "call for a quote." Josh's rates are fair, so we put the whole rate board on the site, plain as a menu. That one honest move became the site's signature.

"The whole rate board, posted." — no call-for-pricing games.

The build itself is the old-fashioned kind: no page builder, no plugins, no third-party anything. Fonts and scripts are served from Josh's own hosting, so the site makes zero requests to anyone else's servers. The contact form delivers each lead to the company inbox as a clean, branded card with a tap-to-call button, and when Josh hits reply, it goes straight to the customer. Under the hood there's a full map of structured data telling Google exactly who the company is, what it does, and where. Google's Lighthouse audit scores the site a perfect 100 for accessibility, best practices, and SEO — with zero layout shift.

The result

Within weeks of launch, saybugman.com took the #1 organic spot on Google for pest control searches in its hometown of New Boston, and its pages show breadcrumb rich results under their listings. An independent site-health audit scores it 100 out of 100. Most important, the site finally matches the company it represents: established, licensed, and straight with people about what things cost.
