I’m Carl.
Annona is home.

I’m a web developer and designer in Red River County, Texas. I build websites for businesses and towns, and make software when there’s something I want to use.

The City of Annona website Carl built for his hometown
My hometown’s website is one of mine.

Websites since 2002.
Clients since then, too.

I started in the DeviantArt community in 2002. A friend pointed me toward HTML and CSS, and I learned by making pages, breaking them, and figuring out why.

I’ve been designing and building websites for clients from the beginning. Most of the businesses I worked with in the 2000s and 2010s have since closed, changed hands, or stopped keeping a website. The projects still online are not where my career started.

Alongside the web work, I design logos, flyers, and artwork for print. I’m still the person you talk to, the person doing the work, and the person you call when it needs changing.

Some jobs.
Some rabbit holes.

I built the websites for Annona and Avery. I also run Red River County Events, a free calendar for five towns, as a neighbor rather than a county commission.

ShiftWall grew out of a small store’s scheduling needs. PitCrew is a Windows maintenance toolbox. OneShotsmith makes printable adventures for the gaming table.

Then there’s Vesper: a fan tech demo of a place I remember from Ultima Online. That one is simply something I wanted to walk around in again.

you’re working on.

I work from Annona, but you don’t have to be nearby. Most projects happen by phone and email.
